1. In your opinion, what was the purpose of this blogging activity? (Why did I choose to do blogging instead of more traditional writing activities?)
I think that the purpose was to open up and kind of have an audience of people from all around the world. When you post things on the internet they are there to stay, so its like sharing this information with everyone that looks up something about your blogs on the internet. I think that doing this is helping us be more open and critical with everyone. You really get to express your opinion and your feelings and thoughts about something, that others can comment on and share theirs. If we just did a writing activity on paper it really wouldn’t be much, it would be something that only Ms.Rumford would see and I really wouldn’t do as well as I did doing the paper cause it would be boring and something that I had to do and not what I wanted to do. I think that this will really improve skills of technology and research because in order to do these you need to have skills in both of them.
2. What have you accomplished during your blogging?
I have really improved in a lot of areas. The areas I was weak in, I am now strong in. Voice was one thing that I wasn’t to strong in and the blogs really let me get my voice out and really discover who I am and my writing techniques. I have also learned how to expand on topics and give details. I think that I have become much stronger as a writer and I would really like to improve my writing skills in this way. I didn’t really enjoy writing but this really did open up doors for me and explore my writing style and dig deeper into it. I especially accomplished a lot because it was on a topic that I love and love to talk about.
3. What key concepts have you learned while blogging? (This can be about writing, research or technology etc.)
I have learned a lot such as sentence structure, improving vocabulary, and researching skills. I learned a lot about how word choice can strengthen and improve your writing. I read through my blogs with simple words then read through it again after I put in strong words and it sounded much better, and even better with good sentence structures. I think that compound-complex sentences really improved my writing. To make my blogs good I really had to learn about what I was talking about and research a lot and carefully. I think that this is the best activity that we have done all year and I definitely think that you should keep using blogs for education because it’s a great way to improve in a lot of areas.
4. Based on the skills you learned while blogging, how will this benefit you in the future? This maybe inside or outside of school.
I think that this will benefit me by improving my skills in writing for later on in the future and even improve my writing for school. I think that this has actually made me grow as a person and it has greatly improved my knowledge. My blog is about cars and it helped me understand more about them and I always love learning about them, I have tons of car magazines, but I have to say this let me learn more about them than ever before. I have also learned how to open up to a bigger audience rather than just to Ms.Rumford. This will also benefit me in years to come for education purposes or just for fun. I can’t wait to write another blog during the summer because blogging has become addicting! I think that blogging wasa great way to learn and fun at the same time.
Today I am going to be talking about the Bentley Continental GT Speed. Bentley is produced in Crewe, England. Everything made for a Bentley is handmade in Mulliner. Mulliner is a factory where they have been producing handmade things for a long time. I think that this car is one of the best luxury cars because of the looks and performance. This car turns heads and get a lot of attention. This is the first Bentley to top 200 mph. This car isn’t only Bentley’s most powerful car, but this car is also one of the top speed demons today. This Bentley has a top speed of approximately 202 mph. This car has an impressive 600 bhp ,which allows it to go 0-60 in 4.3 seconds!
This Bentley has been lowered to improve the aerodynamics and help it flow more. This car weighs about 5,180 pounds, which is good for the amount of power it carries. If you think that you are interested in this car you need to check your pockets first. This car is sold on the market for about $199,990. You might be thinking that you would rather just get the Bentley Continental GT instead of the GT Speed because it has about thesame performance and yet it is 15,000 more dollars. Well, I can prove you wrong because the GT Speed engine’s has the ability to make 9 percent more power and 15 percent more torque which greatly improves the performance of the car.
Fuel economy and carbon-dioxide emissions are both improved by 3.5 percent which saves you money and it also helps the environment. Plus you have to pay a $3,700 gas-guzzler tax. This car is 6.0 liters and has a twin turbo charged engine. While 19-inch alloy wheels are standard on the GT Speed, our tester was equipped with optional 20-inch multispoke wheels sporting a dark tint. The tires are a bargain at $1,320 and are easily the best wheels ever to grace a Bentley. The carbon ceramic disc brakes that frame around them, however, might require a little more thinking about at $16,500 for the set. Regardless, you are getting a great deal for your money and you know that the “B” doesn’t stand for Buick!
This car is not only comfortable, but luxurious and high tech too. This GT Speed has a start and stop button for the car, not like old cars that you have to keep turning the key to get it on or off. Although this car is great its also complicated. When you want to transform the GT Speed from a normal road car to a racing car, there are a few steps you need to follow. First, put the shifter into S. Then locate the control panel immediately behind the shifter with the Start/Stop button, warning lights and seat heater control wheels. After you put it into S and adjust the airofoil all you need to do is hit the gas and off you go. One thing that you need to make sure of is that there aren’t that many cars, because once you start this baby up there is no stopping her! Ferdinand Porsche is the creator of Porsche, obviously cause the last name. After him came his son, Ferry Porsche, he created an all-wheel drive Grand Prix racecar called the ‘Cisitalia’. Ferdinand always said that what he really wanted to do is put the most power in the smallest amount of space.

This kicked off the Porsche company. I am going to be discussing to you about the Porsche Carrera GT one of my favorite Porsche designs. The Porsche Carrera GT has a shocking top speed of 205 mph. This two door roadster can go from 0-60 in 3.8 seconds. The Carrera GT has a 5.5 liter V10 engine, now that’s some mega power! This almighty Porsche also has 558 horsepower. It also has a mid-engine and rear wheel drive. This magnificent automobile is sold on the market for about $444,400.
This car is made of carbon fiber which helps our with the aerodynamics. This mind blowing Carrera has a Carbon fiber-reinforced Silicon Carbide (C/SiC) ceramic composite brake system which helps the wheel drive of the car. The Porsche Carrera GT appeared in the Geneva Auto Show 2000. Porsche started making road-legal versions of this car, but not a large number of them. Originally a production run of 1,500 cars was planned. The first Carrera GT went on sale in the US on January 31, 2004. This GT also includes an automated rear wing spoiler which deploys over 70 mph! So, I guess you have heard about all this “Going Green” stuff and about gas guzzlers right? Well, Porsche has been trying to make all of their cars as environmentally friendly as possible since 1966. Porsche has used things such as lowering fuel consumption, further reducing emissions of pollutants ,and CO2 and incorporating even more recyclable materials into the making of the cars to make their cars as eco-friendly as possible. At the Louvre in Paris, Porsche celebrated the world premiere of the high performance Porsche Carrera GT.

I am going to be articulating about the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster. This Roadster was inspired and designed by Luc Donckerwolke.
It is sold on the market for approximately $405,000 which is a pretty good price for the power and exoticism of this car. This is such a classy and admirable car, with extreme performance, this Lamborghini also is a convertible. This Lamborghini has a monstrous 6.5 liter engine, that is astounding, the Murcielago also has a V-12!! The torque is 494 lb.-ft. at 6,000 rpm. The horsepower is pretty fascinating, it really is, the horsepower is 640 bhp at 8,000 rpm. It goes 0-60 in 3.3 seconds, pretty prodigious, it also has an astonishing top speed of 205 mph. This Lamborghini is also environmentally friendly, it needs 1 gallon every 8 miles, this is an improvement from the other Lamborghinis. There is also a 6-speed transmission and a four wheel drive, how stunning. Something cool about this car is that it has fold in side mirrors to improve aerodynamics. Aerodynamics is a big part of making your car fly and give it the feeling of speed that it has. I just realized that not everyone knows what some abbreviations mean, so I will tell you them, rpm stands for revolutions per minute and bhp stands for brake horsepower. When I speak of revolutions I am talking about how many time the cars engine revolves. I think that this car is one to choose because of many different things. One of the things is that is more environmentally friendly, and by doing that it also saves you money on gas. The performance is another amazing feature, like many other Lamborghinis, it is extremely fast and powerful. It also has amazing horsepower, which is worth the money. All in all the Lamborghini Murcielago LP640 Roadster is made for speed and made up of speed. Not your everyday kind of car, right? Well its great to go out and speed with into the country or something with no speed limits. This a really over rated kind of car not really meant as a family ,lets go to soccer practice, kind of car. I think that this car is worth its money if you have a lot of time to your self and love speed. Next week I will be doing an entry on the Porsche Carrera GT! On this blog I am going to be talking about the 2008 Bugatti Veyron 16.4. The Bugatti Veyron 16.4 ,is 16.4 because it has 16 cylinders and it is a 4 wheel drive. Never before in automobile history has an attempt been made to adapt a sports car, which is as easy as it is safe to handle at such a wide range of speeds, for use on public roads. Bugatti was supposed to be built to show the world a revolution of transportation for new goals and heights, it achieved its goal very much so, and in many ways.
The Veyron is so fast that it has two keys, one of them is for the road limit ( 220 kph maximum), and the other is for the exceeding speed limit ( 220 kph and more). If you do use the second key the car requires a safety check, it will check for things such as tire pressure and fuel. It also reaches a boasting top speed of 407 kph. The Veyron is the fastest legal on-road vehicle in the world. The Veyron has a 1001 horse power at 6000 rpm. This car also has a torque of up to 1,250 Nm.
The Veyron is shaped the way it is so it makes the car hug the road as if it was one. This car’s aluminum body also helps it to cool down through top speeds. It can go 0-100 in 2.5 seconds now that is really astonishing! To ensure the safety of this vehicle it was tested on the Formula 1 track and it did well. The velocity of the car is so high that it could basically fly.

You might be thinking that it takes a long time for the Veyron to slow down since it’s accelerating at such a high rate, but actually because of the carbon-ceramic high-performance braking system it takes a shorter time to come to a complete stop than accelerate, what a relief! All of these statistics combined together make up an astounding production super sports car that changed history.
First of all I would like to introduce you to the CEO of Lamborghini, Stephan Winkelmann.
Winkelmann is fiercely protective of Lamborghini, yet he understands the big picture. Confront him with the widely perceived notion that somehow the Murciélago is the last Lamborghini true to the company’s original spirit, and he responds, “No, I don’t necessarily find that assertion insulting. As a company we need to innovate. What was right in the 1960s is not good enough for today. I am going to be telling you about the all new Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4 Spyder. It is one of the most amazing cars ever, especially for Lamborghini. The first thing that you need to know is that this sweet ride doesn’t come cheap, it starts at around $ 224,700. So you might be thinking, well what so special about this car anyways? Well I can answer that for you. This Lambo reaches 100 km/h in 4 seconds or 0-60 in 4 seconds! Now that’s what I call impressive! This car is so great that it even had wind deflectors, so whenever you want to put the top of your car down you don’t have all of that wind blowing in your face. With its lighter engine, the two-seater boasts a dry weight of only 3417.2 Ibs. This car is made out of aluminum with some thermoplastic parts. The engine on this baby is amazing it’s a V10 and a 5.2 liter and 552 hp! This Lambo can go up to 201 mph. This engines incredible thrust also includes a 10 cylinder power plant. I don’t know how the driver can control it, but it does have 5400 rpm. The maximum power of this Gallardo is 560 hp at 8,000 rpm. Doesn’t everyone just want to rev up that V10?

I think that freedom of speech is a great opportunity to take advantage of your life and to make choices. Freedom of speech means that you have the ability to say what you believe. Freedom of speech does have its advantages, but there are also some disadvantages. While expressing your opinion you cannot go to far. You have to be aware of not offending anyone, whether it be about race or religion. In a lot of countries freedom of speech is not an option and people will be prosecuted for expressing their opinion or what they believe in. People may take freedom of speech for granted and not use it for the right reasons. In the United States there is freedom of speech and it is the 1st amendment on the constitution. In a lot of cases of freedom of speech you need to think before you express your feelings because, like I said, it could really offend someone else without you even knowing it. Freedom of speech lets you unwind and let all of your thoughts out and also it really shows who you are and your side of things. When I hear freedom of speech I think of opinions being let out and ideas roaming. Many people have changed their opinions greatly from other people expressing their ideas. I think that freedom of speech has actually picked America up by its feet and taught it to walk. If it were not for freedom of speech I don’t know where we would be today, but let me tell you, it would be much different and not in a good way!
